So I hit the wall. This happened last time too. It takes awhile for me to actually get tired, but now we are at five weeks of limited sleep plus chasing a very active toddler.
So yesterday I slammed into the wall (which could explain all my mysterious bruises, no?) (okay, okay, I’m just clumsy). Turns out that was bad timing because it was also Monday and here lately I’ve been having issues with Mondays.
A long time ago I used to have the kind of job that involved pencil skirts, stilettos, and sales goals. I know kinda hard to imagine right? Well it wasn’t really my thing anyways (probably because I focused more on the skirts and shoes than sales). Back in those days I worked my tail off during the week and crashed on Saturday and Sunday.
Somewhere in there that got stuck in my mind as the way it should be.
My current job doesn’t work that way. Turns out weekends are just as much if not more work than a weekday.
Even bigger problem?
I have still been checking out on the weekend.
Which means come Monday? I’m completely overwhelmed by the weekend leftovers.
It’s time to reevaluate rest time. I’m going to have to figure out how to cram some down time in the new normal. Currently I have one hour and a half of “both girls napping” time. That has yet to actually happen in reality the way it does I theory.
So mommy friends I need advice. How do you find rest time?
